Tonight, what is there in my mind is batik. Hmmm…. I guess it because some days ago my sister promised to give me batik as a present. Yeah…it is one of the reasons, but the other reason is I want to introduce batik to my friends who come from abroad and haven’t known yet about batik.
Hahahaha…I guess that’s enough for me to deliver a speech. Now, here we go…..

What is Batik?
Batik is a unique form of Indonesian art, a combination of artistic expression and technical skill. To make batik is using beeswax, paraffin, and multi colours dyeing on pieces of clothing. In Indonesia, there are some regions which famous as as “Batik City” such as Pekalongan, Yogyakarta, and Solo.
Based on the technique used, batik falls into three categories: hand waxed, hand stamp, and the combination of two. Batik that used hand waxed is done with “chanting”, a tool which is made of brass or copper. For the hand stamp batik, they use a cooper stamp with various designs; while batik combination is the result of combining “chanting” and the stamp technique.
